Hidden in one of the many passageways in Zmaj Jovina Street, this ten-square-meter bar describes itself as a “spot for doggos, coffee, booze, brews, activism, and solidarity,” and it lives up to every word.
Established in 2018, Crni ovan is rooted in punk culture and an unapologetically antifascist ethos. Its walls and shelves reflect a living, breathing independent scene: vinyl records, band T-shirts, vegan cookbooks, comics, stickers, and feminist zines sit alongside copies of Liceulice and collection boxes for animal shelters and soup kitchens. The space regularly hosts book promotions, discussions, lectures, and grassroots events, offering visitors more than a drink – it’s a chance to plug into a community.
The menu champions local and conscious choices, from fresh herbal teas sourced from Fruška gora to craft beers brewed across Vojvodina. It’s fully smoke-free and proudly pet-friendly – animals are not just welcome, but part of what makes the place recognizable and warm.
With a strict “no racism, sexism, and homophobia” policy, it creates an environment of inclusivity and safety.
